Repeaters

PAARC operates a pair of VHF 2 meter repeaters with excellent coverage of the Peoria Tri-County area. We also have a DSTAR repeater operating on 70 cm. The club repeater committee continues to evalute usage of club repeaters and is always working to improve service. User comments and suggestions from are welcome.

W9UVI, our wide area repeater operates on 147.075 MHz with an input up 600 KHz at 147.675 MHz.  The “075” repeater is located on a communications tower near Groveland on the east side of the Illinois River.  The antenna is mounted at 180 feet on the tower.  A CTCSS Tone of 156.7 Hz is required to access the 147.075 repeater. This tone is needed on both the input and output.

The W9UVI 147.075 repeater is equipped with EchoLink, a software system that allows licensed Amateur Radio stations to communicate with one another worldwide over the Internet, using streaming-audio technology. It is useful for repeater users to connect to the W9UVI repeater from remote locations or when radios are not available. The designation is W9UVI-R Peoria, IL. Node 706480. Learn more about EchoLink.

The K9PEO repeater operates on 146.85 MHz, and is located in Glasford on the Timber Hollis Fire Department tower.  This repeater operates with a negative input frequency of 146.250 MHz.  A 103.5 CTCSS Tone is required.

The 147.075 and the 146.850 repeaters are linked, meaning that when one repeater is keyed-up by receiving a signal,  the other repeater in the network is also activated and transmits the same signal. The end result is that the PAARC’s repeater coverage is expanded.

PAARC also operates DSTAR repeater W9PIA at 443.468.75 (+5), located at the Peoria County EMA Bunker in Kickapoo.

All PAARC repeaters are open, and their use is encouraged by the general amateur community.  However, some user features may be reserved for club members, and PAARC may limit access to the DSTAR System as required.
